Al Moudira Hotel is an authentic 54-room hotel isolatedly located in Luxor’s west bank. The property is architectural very beautifully designed, although the rooms could need an update. The internet is very fast by Egyptian standards, but unfortunately only available in public areas and not in the rooms. The rooms didn’t have any welcome amenities and the hotel don’t offer a welcome drink as you otherwise would expect in a remote leisure hotel. It also charges for bottled water unlike other luxury hotels in Egypt.
The service was a mixed experience. I agree with comments saying it’s slow and it’s often difficult to find staff in the public areas such as reception. Some staff were truly great and friendly, while others wasn’t very helpul. The hotel was quite empty during my stay and there were only 2 other guests. On the other hand, the food was really good, especially the breakfast. The swimming pool was a lovely place to relax and I liked Al Moudira in many ways. My only problem was the rates. It’s highly overpriced and charges more than Four Seasons Sharm El Sheikh which doesn’t make any sense.
Overall a beautiful unique experience and one of the very few independent hotels in Egypt with a standard that belongs in my Hotel Passion-collection.
My opinion: Good+ experience.
