Andersen Hotel Copenhagen

Copenhagen is one of the European capitals with least amount of great hotels to stay in. In general Copenhagen is a bad hotel city when looking though Tripadvisor reviews. Nimb is an extraordinary small hotel, D’Angleterre the classical grand hotel and then there is a few other hotels that can be recommended as safe choices. One of them is Andersen Hotel which is a 73-room boutique hotel located clsoe to the central train station in Copenhagen.

My experience at Andersen Hotel started with a warm welcome and quick check in. I stayed in a Brilliant Deluxe Room which was very nicely designed and best of all, it felt local. Most chain hotels feels the same with it’s identical design. Andersen Hotel felt like I was in Denmark and it was really nice. The rooms are not extraordinary, but has a beautiful design with features such as Samsung LED Tv, working desk, minibar and safe. The bathroom had a nice shower and Molton Brown products as an impressive detail.

The breakfast is complimentary for all guests and it was really good. It was better than many breakfasts I’ve had in 5 star hotels around the world and with many locals items I as a Dane really appreciated. The service is always the most important thing and it’s important to note Andersen is a boutique hotel, not a luxury hotel. There isn’t many staff, but the ones I spoke to were very friendly and with a great attitude. For me, it makes all the difference. Complimentary wifi worked very well in both the lobby and in the room. Their lobby lounge serve specialty coffee and local beers though the day and are worth a visit even if you are not staying in the hotel.

Finally it’s worth to mention Andersen Hotel’s unique CONCEPT24 which I have not seen in any other hotel in the world. The room is yours for 24 hours no matter when you check in and at no extra cost. Really an awesome idea and surely very valuable. The rates here are in general excellent value with room rates starting at 925 DKK. There are many hotels in the same price range in Copenhagen, but they are not in the same league as Andersen Hotel which are one of the few places in Copenhagen I would like to stay.

My opinion: Good+ experience.
