Emerald Hotel

Emerald Hotel Pristina just opened as the first 5 star hotel in Kosovo and after my one night stay I’m happy to conclude it’s up to the expected standards. My first impressions of Emerald Hotel wasn’t good. Smoking allowed in the lobby and I did expect it as there are no smoking law in Kosovo. After a short registration I received my key and I was on my way to the room. As expected I wasn’t escorted to the room as this is a business hotel. I stayed in a non-smoking standard room which was better than expected. Nicely designed and on the same level as a newer Sheraton or Marriott room. The flatscreen Tv was large, but the bathroom unfortunately didn’t have separate shower from the bathtub. A working desk and complimentary high speed internet made it a great room for business travelers and definitely nothing to complain about as it by far exceeded my expectations for a room in Kosovo.

The service exceeded my expectations as well. The front desk staff had a great English level and was very helpful. I unfortunately didn’t catch the reception lady’s name, but she was very professional with all my requests and I was very impressed. Others could need more training, but the general service level exceeded my expectations. 72 rooms is quite small for a business hotel, but happy to conclude it works. The food unfortunately didn’t meet my expectations and it’s a point Emerald can improve. Emerald is a 5 star hotel and you will find the business facilities as expected, but keep in mind the public areas including both restaurant is smoking. Overall a good experience. It’s great places like Kosovo now has a 5 star hotel. Keep in mind it’s a business hotel, but it’s definitely up to the standard of a Hilton or Marriott, but more with a touch of Kosovo.
