HavsVidden is the best place to stay in the territory of Åland, located between Sweden and Finland. If you are interested in Åland as a destination, I would highly recommend you to read my article “New sponsor: Visit Åland”, but back to the hotel. HavsVidden is officially a 4-star, but I have to say the Cliff House I stayed in was really wonderful and large. Living room with large Tv and DVD-player, living room with dinner table and a kitchen making it a perfect place for longer stays. Everything up to a high standard including the bed which was one of the best I’ve slept in and definitely the most soft. The Cliff houses starts at 360 euros pr. night for 2 persons, while up to 4 persons costs 432 euros pr. night. The internet was complimentary and high speed. The standard rooms at HavsVidden starts at 95 euros, but those don’t have internet acccess.

The service at HavsVidden was very good, kind local staff and I really enjoyed talking with the staff and knowing more about Åland. Food is far from the great Relais&Châteaux country hotels, but still good. It’s not fine dining, but with focus on great local ingredients. The breakfast was OK with great locally produced apple juice. The facilities included spa facilities and outdoor heated pools.

Overall HavsVidden is a charming hotel in a beautiful location. I really liked it and although it’s not up to the standards of the world’s bests, it’s certainly the best place in Åland and for that I can’t recommend it enough.

My opinion: Good+ experience.
