Introduction: Hotel Jen Malé, Maldives is located on the smallest island capital city in the world. It’s a seven-minute speedboat ride from Ibrahim Nasir International Airport and a one-minute walk from the arrival jetty. The hotel is ideally situated amidst the bustling government and corporate centre.
Above information is how the hotel presents itself on their website.
Below is my experience based on a one-night stay at the property.
My Arrival Experience: Warm welcome from the staff.
What I loved: To find a hotel of Shangri-La’s standards in the crowded city of Malé
What About the Food: Surprisingly great food at the rooftop restaurant. A lot better than many of the 5-star island resort in a direct comparison.
What About the Service: Very good service from trained staff. Shangri-La, the chain behind this hotel, has done a better job than many of the 5-star resorts in the Maldives despite being a city hotel.
What About My Room: Beautiful room with a comfortable bed, rain shower, working desk and flat screen Tv.
Number of Rooms: 117.
Type of Property: Hotel.
Location: Malé, Maldives.
Facilities: Pool, spa, gym and business/meeting facilities.
Complimentary Internet: Yes with acceptable speed.
My Overall Impression: Good+ experience. The best place to stay in Malé and an ideal hotel if you arrive late and have to stay somewhere for a night before going to your island resort n the following.
