Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa is a member of Kiwi Collection and was voted Ireland’s Leading Spa Resort at World Travel Awards. The hotel picked me up from the bus stop and after a 5 minutes ride I arrived in the hotel where I was escorted right to the room.
I stayed in a Deluxe Ocean View Room which was quite small, but comfortable. It had a modern design and nice seaview from the balcony. The shower wasn’t separate from the bathtub and the working desk should have had a better chair. On the positive side was fast, complimentary internet which is very important for me.
The service was good, not great. 67 rooms is too big to deliver great personalized service, but the staff were very kind, however some areas could be improved. More training of some staff would be good, but most had a high service level. It was voted the best spa resort in Ireland and it was definitely great facilities, but I didn’t have a treatment so can’t judge it on that.
The restaurant is Michelin recommended and I had a wonderful 5 course tasting menu. Food is very important for me in remote locations and Inchydoney definitely exceeded my expectations. Overall a very good experience to the portfolio. It’s a hotel up to the standards of Kiwi Collection and a recommended experience in a beautiful location.
My opinion: Good+ experience.
