Introduction:Isango Gate was built in the early 1900’s, the residence has since been transformed into a sophisticated, elegantly styled boutique hotel.
Isango Gate is a serene yet modern setting of African Zen gardens, open deck area, earth tones, modern lines and style and has a calming marine touch.
This great escape is situated in the premier quiet suburb of Summerstrand in Port Elizabeth and on the doorstep of our pristine blue flag beaches.
Above information is how the hotel presents itself on their website.
Below is my experience based on a one-night stay at the property.
My Arrival Experience: Warm welcome from the staff followed by a very fast check-in. Very good first impression.
What I loved: To find a hotel of this level in Port Elizabeth. One of the best boutique hotels I have stayed in South Africa.
What About the Service: Friendly and helpful staff in all areas of the hotel. Very satisfied with the service level provided.
What About the Rooms: Beautiful contemporary rooms. Mine had a comfortable bed, working desk, flat screen Tv, balcony, rain shower and separate freestanding bathtub. The only downside was the noise level during the day.
Number of Rooms: 10.
Type of Property: Something between a country hotel and city hotel with its location in the Summerstrand area of Port Elizabeth.
Location: Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
Facilities: Spa, gym, pool and business/meeting facilities are making it a 5-star hotel in the South African rating system.
Complimentary Internet: Yes, unlimited and fast.
My Overall Impression: Great experience. Great boutique hotels are not limited to Cape Town and Johannesburg. Port Elizabeth has at least one as well!
