Latvian-based airBaltic is the latest airline to be part of my journey to all countries in the world. AirBaltic is a low-cost carrier offering the lowest fares on many European routes. Despite being a low-cost carrier, the airline has been awarded 3 stars by Skytrax, and I couldn’t agree more. The flight experience is very similar to most European national carrier such as Scandinavian Airlines, Croatian Airlines, Adria and many others. While the low fares are the main reason to select airBaltic, the comfortable seats and excellent on-time performance (96% last month) are other reasons not to forget when selecting your route. A stopover in Riga is also highly recommended as its an interesting city to explore for a day. World class hotels such as Dome Hotel (Relais&Châteaux and Grand Palace Hotel (Leading Hotels of the World) can also be explored if you prefer to stay a few days in Riga instead of a quick stopover.
Finally, I would like to thank airBaltic for handling my request very fast and issuing my tickets last minute in one day. It was certainly highly appreciated. AirBaltic sponsored a flight from Frankfurt to Billund with a stop in Riga. I have visited Riga 4 times now and I like the city a lot. The airBaltic experience ended with a visit to their business class lounge at the contemporary Riga Airport. One of the better lounges I have been to with excellent comfort, drinks and snacks through the day.
