Le Taha’a Island Resort and Spa is located 30 minutes boat ride from Raiatea Airport which is a 15 minutes flight from Bora Bora. It’s
I stayed in an over water villa and while it was a little tired it was still very nice. The bathroom had a bathtub that was separate from the shower, but the shower wasn’t good and should be replaced as soon as possible. The views were as always incredible when you stay over water and I was overall very satisfied with the villa.
As I’ve told before the service level I saw in my 5 hotels in French Polynesia was very disappointing compared with resorts around the world with the same price level. Le Taha’a Island Resort & Spa is however a winner in my opinion. They by far have most local staffs and have trained them the best they possible could. That is honest and worth appreciation instead of flying in all staffs from Europe. Compared with the rest of the world the service was OK and I simply don’t think it’s possible to deliver really great service in a place like French Polynesia. The food was true to Relais&Chateaux where breakfast, lunch and dinner all were very good and among the best meals I had in French Polynesia.
Overall a great experience that was true to the 5C’s of Relais&Chateaux. It’s probably the most local experience you can have in French Polynesia and it’s quite unique. Value for money is not something you get in French Polynesia, but Le Taha’a was my favorite out of the five I stayed. Don’t expect extraordinary service, but instead an incredible beautiful resort with local touches.
My opinion: Great+ experience.
