Rocco Forte Hotel Savoy

Rocco Forte is a collection of 13 quality hotels accross Europe. As I would like to try all kind of hotel experience I was very excited to try my first Rocco Forte hotel, The Savoy in Florence.

I arrived in the hotel and received a warm welcome from the receptionist. A drink was offered in the lobby before the room became ready.

The hotel was full on the night I stayed here and an suite wasn’t possible. I stayed in a very small standard room which had the same simple design as the rest of the hotel. The bathroom had Ren products which I really love, but the shower wasn’t separate from the bathtub. The bed could be more comfortable, but the pillows was extremly hard and I now realize I should have asked for softer ones as they had a pillow menu.

Hotel Savoy has 102 rooms and I had expectations for the service. The staff is well-trained and delivered great service after European standards. The food is excellent. I had lunch in their restaurant called Il L’Incontro and it was a great experience in both food and service. The breakfast was very good as well and Italy’s best hotels hardly disappoints when it comes to food.

Finallym the location is probably the best in all of Florence and if location is important don’t hesitate to book Savoy as it was up to the standards you would expect from a Leading Hotel of the World.

Overall a great place to stay in Florence. I like the simple design and size of Hotel Savoy. It’s a hotel that works, but I must also say it wasn’t an extraordinary experience.
