The Imperial Vienna

The Imperial in Vienna is one of the most famous hotels in the world. A great history and known as the place to stay since 1873 when Emperor Franz Joseph opened the hotel.

My experience started with a professional welcome from the frontdisk and an escort to a lovely Elizabeth Suite. The welcome amenties included wonderful Mozart chocolates which is made by the hotel itself and that was a very nice detail. It had separate livingroom from the bedroom and a great classical design. The bathroom had Bulgari amenities which is preferred by many. The bed could be better and the bathtub wasn’t separate from the shower.

The Imperial starts to look tired and a renovation might be needed soon, but what makes it special is the history and the service. The staff was fantastic and the head concierge is perhaps the best I’ve seen in any hotel. He’s been there for many years and knows everything and is very professional.

The facilities is not very impressive. There is no spa and the gym is small, but facilities isn’t the reason to stay in The Imperial.

Overall a fantastic classical property. It is tired in parts, but the service is as good as you get it in a classical hotel and I can highly recommend it as the place to stay in Vienna.

My opinion: Great+ experience.
