When you arrive in Auckland you will have the choice between an expensive taxi or a $16 dollar bus that takes you right in front of the hotel. I took the last option and arrived with expectations of a great business hotel.
The check in went very easy and was escorted to the club lounge after a short conversation with the front desk staff. The club lounge was one of the best I’ve seen in any hotel in the world and it’s definitely a must if you want to make the most of your stay in The Langham. The selection of food and drinks is impressive combined with comfortable facilities and great staff.
With over 400 rooms I didn’t expect an escort to the room, but if you’re on one of the club floors it’s one of the benefits. I stayed in an Executive Suite and it was very spacious with a huge separate livingroom. Private dining table, working desk and sitting area. Internet is complimentary on the club floor, but charged $25 dollars for the other guests. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom had Molton Brown products and separate bath tub from the shower.
I’ve never been a big fan of big hotels especially because you always feel like a number. With over 400 rooms The Langham is no exception, but it did work as a great business hotel with 5 star services and facilities. Highly recommended as one of the only choices in Auckland and with excellent value.
My opinion: Good experience.
