I’m Platinum of Ritz-Carlton Rewards, and no upgrade was possible, and there was no recognition of the status at all. Having tried this sometimes now, I must say the only benefit of being Platinum with Ritz-Carlton is the points. They are far from the quality of other hotel programs. I was offered a welcome drink and then escorted to my deluxe room. The room was nothing special and dated. I’m very happy they are renovating the hotel at the moment because it’s desperately needed. Extremely small bathroom as well and in general not good enough to be a Ritz-Carlton room.
For me, service is the most important thing in a hotel. You can have the most beautiful hotel, but the service must be there to create a great hotel experience. While the room was a disappointment, the service was great. Strong name recognition as expected as this is one of the smallest Ritz-Carlton hotels. I liked the relaxing area outside, and it got a nice resort feeling to it. The food was great. I had a tasting menu in their Italian restaurant, and it was a nice experience in both food and service.
Overall a property that needs renovation, but the service is still up to the Ritz-Carlton standard.
My opinion: Great experience.
