Accommodation Top 10 Resorts in the Maldives April 22, 2018April 28, 2019 I have stayed at approximately 60 private island resorts in the Maldives. Below is my top 10.10. LUX* South Ari Atoll* Why in the top 10? Great overall experience. Beautiful contemporary rooms, good food and great management. It’s a big island and it might take a lot longer getting between your villa and the public areas than on other islands. 9. COMO Cocoa Island Why in the top10? Only 33 villas (all water villas) makes a difference. The design and attention to details are impressive. The service is great, and the food is comparable with the best places I’ve stayed in the Maldives.8. Huvafen FushiWhy in the top 10? A fantastic overall experience. Excellent service, amazing water villas, great food and the first and only underwater spa in the world.7. Constance HalaveliWhy in the top 10? Amazing villas with great service and food. My villa had a swimming pool despite being a water villa.6. Six Senses Laamu Why in the top 10? Fantastic villas. Some of the best in the Maldives. Great food and an amazing Six Senses concept. Might be the best value of the top 6 on this list. 5. Four Seasons Resort Kuda Huraa Why is it in the top 10? Amazing villas, excellent service and some of the best food in the Maldives.4. W Retreat & Spa Why in the top 10? Different from the W hotels you find in the cities. Extraordinary contemporary villas, great villas and service. Loved it.3. Soneva Fushi Why in the top 10? Fantastic butler service, some of the best food in the Maldives, superb spa and a fantastic eco-friendly concept similar to Six Senses and Gili Lankanfushi. Beach villas only-resort.2. Four Seasons Resort Landaa Giraavaru Why in the top 10? Professional service and excellent villas like the one I stayed with a large swimming pool. Great food and a beautiful spa on an extraordinary island make it worthy of the high ranking.1. Gili LankanfushiGili Lankanfushi is the winner. Extraordinary attention to detail in every aspect of the experience. The design and the fantastic huge, eco-friendly water villas are the highlights. The food and the service are also among the best in the Maldives making it well deserved to rank it as the number one resort on my list. It’s a water villa only-resort, so if you are looking for beach villas, but the same kind of concept, Soneva Fushi would be a better choice.
