W Mexico City

Finding the best hotel in Mexico City can be quite a challenge. Four Seasons was long known for the best hotel, but then St. Regis and W came. W had the highest rates in the periode I visited Mexico City and I arrived with high expectations.

The arrival went fine and an upgrade to Fantastic Suite was confirmed. The Fantastic Suite is their second highest category of suites and was very nice. 540 square feets and with great details as a big round bath tub with great views of the city. The bed was a usual comfortable W bed and it also had the same refreshing bliss products.

Service is the most important thing in a hotel and W Mexico City delivered one of the better W experiences. Well trained staff that took care of problems during my stay. The internet didn’t work when I arrived, but they made it work after one hour. As compensation a dining experience was offered. Their restaurant was a great experience with high quality food and service. Better than expected actually, but not the very best hotel food I’ve had though.

W is probably the worlds most different hotel brand. It’s a hotel experience like no other with focus on extraordinary contemporary design and athmosphare. My experience with W has been very mixed, but W Mexico City is one of the better ones. A little dated in parts, but keep in mind it was one of the first W hotel
